OVERVIEW
Streamlining the user experience across services
I worked on the LANDMARKS project alongside 3 other designers and other cross-functional teams. Having never worked with developers or other teams, it was a learning experience for me to collaborate cross-discipline. I adapted agile principles and took part in bi-weekly sprints to ensure my work was consistent and on track with the rest of my team.
The LANDMARKS app is a GPS-based, game-oriented tool designed to help prevent kidnappings by familiarizing children with their environment. Kids often struggle to remember their home address and phone number, but they can easily recall nearby places like the ice cream shop, the park, McDonald's, or grandma’s house. Parents can choose which locations their child encounters and manage an interface that directs them through the game. These interactions also track their movements to ensure they’re on the right path. Due to my Non-Disclosure Agreement, I cannot release any more information about our product until it is officially released!
My main contributions include:
Conducting competitive analysis
Reiterating designs based on feedback
Designing character inventory materials
Creating mobile and web designs
User flow diagrams
REFLECTION
First time building from scratch and working cross-functionally.
I unfortunately wasn't able to stay till project completion, but I am excited to see where the company takes this project. This was a huge learning experience for me and I had the opportunity to work alongside a talented and passionate team. This was my first time working on a project from scratch, so this was definitely a huge learning curve but I am very grateful for this experience.
